Drytown is the oldest community in Amador County and the first where gold was discovered. The town was named after Dry Creek, which runs dry during the summer. The town is registered as a Califonia Historical Landmark. It is home to a population of fewer than 200 people and has about 5 antique stores. The city was once a well-known hotspot thanks to the gold mines and had a population of 10,000 people.
